A global initiative of UNESCO that gets to Catalonia

UNESCOCAT, in collaboration with UNESCO, joins the global initiative “Futures of Education: Learning to Become” to reimagine how knowledge and learning can shape the future of humanity. and of the planet.

This initiative aims to rethink education and create the future we want, catalyzing a global debate about how knowledge, education and learning must be reimagined in a world of increasing complexity, uncertainty and precarity.

We need to think together so we can act together and shape the futures we want.

The initiative seeks to promote reflection and debate and to gather the input of individuals, networks and individuals who will nourish the work of an International Commission and the global debate.

All voices and approaches are important, and we encourage you to join this global initiative! Participation channels are already active and can be found HERE.

You can find more information on the “Future of Education: Learning to Become” initiative on the UNESCO website, or on the same page, where we will be updating the information.

Futures of Education Forum

The Futures of Education Forum is formed by a group of schools and people linked to these schools who have wanted to contribute collectively to the global debate on the Futures of Education promoted by UNESCO. This group wants to reimagine how knowledge and learning can shape the future of humanity and the planet between 2020 and 2022.

The creation of this Forum arises as a joint and temporary project of centers that already collaborated as referents schools of Escola Nova 21 together with some others. These will self-lead the initiative with the support of the Jaume Bofill Foundation and UNESCOCAT.

Contribution to the initiative

In order to contribute to the UNESCO global debate on the Futures of Education, the workgroup of schools Fòrum Futurs de l’Educació and UNESCOCAT have written together a report on how to build the future of education from the lessons learned in the Escola Nova 21 experience, and the educational policy implications that could lead to it.
