The report “Learning: The treasure within”, also known as Delors Report, was published in 1996 as a result of the work of the International Commission about the Education in the XXI century, promoted by UNESCO and led by Jaques Delors. In 1996, Unescocat published its Catalan version.
This report seeks to highlight the role of education as an instrument for humanity to progress toward the ideals of peace, freedom and social justice. It emphasises that the ultimate goal of education is to learn to be. This aim is broken down into three other goals:
Learning to know (learning to learn, learning to acquire and build knowledge)
Learning to do (learning social and professional skills to relate)
Learn to live together (learning to live in society and with the others).
